Week 12 Area 1
what a good week god loves his children :) haha we baptized Carmen this week i did the baptism wow how scary haha i was scared i wasn't going to pronounce the words right or i wasn't going to remember them so right before the baptismal service i said a prayer that i would remember the words and that everything would go good haha and it did it was super funny because Carmen i guess when she was Little she had a bad experience with water and she hasn't been completely under water for 10 years Ha she was super worried the wáter was going to be cold too and it was haha i felt super happy after i baptized her though i felt the spirit super strong and i felt that god was looking down and smiling and that he was aware of the commitment that Carmen was making we baptized her on domingo mayo 24th it was a happy day
Saturday was also a really good day we did a activity with the youth in the Ward from 10 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon there was probably 15 missionaries and 50 kids and we all met at the church and every missionary was paired with a kid in the church and given a paper with future investigators and with manos activos and the addresses i was paired with a Mexican kid that only spoke español he was 17 years old this was suppose to be a activity for the youth but man i think it was more for me then it was for them i learned alot from this kid haha hes awesome hes the only convert in his whole family so at 10 in the morning we went to search for people to teach just me and him we almost got lost in the metro so that was scary but then when we got to our área we taught to lessons just me and this kid and we contacted 3 people i was super surprised it was a confidence builder for me
i lead the lessons they were Little lessons like 15 minutes but they were good lessons and i contacted people my español was better then i thought I'm pretty sure that if my 1st companion was a mexican i would be fluent already cause he couldn't understand me when i talked english so i was forced to talk español and it was really good for me
we found out last night about changes me and Elder best are staying here the only person that's leaving is Elder mathew's my district leader he leaves tomorrow so that super sad cause i like him alot my goal is in 1 month to be able to speak this language i have a hard time studying the language i love studying the book of mormon but the language is so boring so i need to work on that this month and i think ill be able to speak this language
all around this was a good week and i have really been trying to focus on serving and loving my companion haha because you know me I'm pretty stubborn but I'm working on it that's the good part about missions is i can see my weaknesses and try my hardness to overcome them and its so awesome because i have a perfect example of a perfect missionary Jesuscristo
i love all of you and I'm so proud of you i have the best family and friends your all such a good example to me

Week 11
this week wow what a week!!:) i got the package from grandma wahooo!!! thankyou so much 1st off i gotta talk about yesterday what a day hahah the 1st thing that happened is we got to church we walked into the chapel and the 1st counselor told Elder Mathews hey you know you Elder Vallejo Elder Best and Elder Tams are talking today in sacrament and he was like haha no you never told us and he was like well you are haha this is like my 4th sunday here i still suck at the language and i have 5 min to prepare a talk for all these mexicans so you know me im freaking out and my heart is pounding out of my chest!! i love this feeling though its like a big mix of nervs and the spirit i decided to talk about prayer i read some scriptures read out of a pamphlet and beared my testimony it was about a 5 min talk it was really scary but it was awesome because i could feel the spirit so strong it was helping me with what to say i wish that i could feel like this in every lesson that i teach so that was one super good experience and I'm sure ill have many more opportunities the next thing that happened yesterday is i went to a meeting with the zone leaders with Elder mathews my district leader to report about my área it was pretty cool we have alot of good dudes in our zone and in our district they asked me what my goals were and i told them to only speak español which i have been doing for the last week and it has helped me alot and that i want to be more Christlike and have charity and love for the people here
the best thing that happened this week and yesterday !!I'm crossing my fingers that because I'm telling you guys this im not going to jinx myself or anything we have an investigator her name is Carmen Elder best has taught her for like 2 months her family is recent converts but she has a boyfriend and has 2 niños with him and we have been trying to meet with her for the last couple weeks and they have been blowing us off we told them that they had to get married or Split up if she wanted to get baptized! we haven't taught her for like 3 weeks and she hasn't came to church but then yesterday she randomly came to church and we talked to her and she told us that she wants to change her life and that she doesn't think her boyfriend is a good father for her kids and stuff and shes going to break up with him and move in with her mom and she wants to be baptized this saturday we have a lesson with her tonight so pray that everything goes good and that she can be strong and make this change in her life but for right now at this momento were planning on baptizing her this saturday and Elder Best said that he wants me to do it so i can have a baptism in my 1st área but its more then that shes a really good person and she has just had a hard couple of months but i think shes going to get out of her slum I'm super excited for her I'm excited to have a baptism to because it will be good for all of our other investigators were gonna invite them to it and have a Little fiesta
i love this góspel and what it has taught me so far i need to be a better person we all do its a daily struggle if you want to become as he is the Son Of God and thats the ultimate goal and thats why missions are good is because you can spend 2 years every day all day to try and be better and to try and humble yourself
i love you all and im grateful for you and i want you all to be eternally happy and i know that you can through this wonderful góspel that Jesucristo has put on this earth
